So the post with the Bertone Volvo picture got me going down some dark alleys of the internet looking at chop-tops (yes I know the Bertone 262C is not technically a chop-top as it came from the factory like that). Anyways, I came across first this:
And then this:
People do some truly strange things to Geo Metros.. but I digress. The first picture here is actually somewhat interesting. I can’t seem to find much info on it though other than it’s a Gen 3 Geo Metro with an electric conversion. Just thought I’d share...
EDIT: Found a few more photos...

Oh goodness.
Those things rusted so much, I distinctly remember kicking a giant hole in one once.

Both of those jobs are bizarrely clean, given that we’re talking about Geo Metros. Hats off! I’m a fan. Would definitely be interested in learning more about the first one - looks like a decent amount of work remains to be completed.

Hypermilers for the win.

There are a lot of people who heavily modify them for hypermileing! Search up “hypermileing Geo Metro” and I imagine you’ll get even more interesting hits!

That white one looks pretty badass actually. Kind of like a fiero and crx inspired mashup

The top one reminds me of either a Nissan nx or Mazda mx3 and a little bit of Honda CRZ

Those are amazing!
Post chopped hatchbacks!

That Fiat looks awesome (sans the green wheels)!

Yea I’ve seen a few of these already too.. some rediculous elongated tails or more inboard rear wheels and all that.. crazy stuff. I do admire the dedication and craftsmanship, even if the outcomes look strange.

Yea see my edit. I found a few more pics, and it doesn’t look as clean from those angles, though yes, quite a bit of work does still remain.

So those are basically the same car as the Suzuki Swift. A friend of mine had one back in the day and he kept bragging that he can take any Geo Metro as he had one more cylinder.. he also complained though that his car didn’t track straight with a passenger in the car..
Rust aside, the car (the Suzuki anyways) is fairly durable, and is capable of going through a 6ft fence at speed and remaining mobile, only losing a front bumper in the process. That’s been proven.

And a Crossfire from the rear.

For sure, I am not a hardcore hypermiler (although I do use a few small techniques when commuting my DD route for the sake of saving a few bucks at the pumps), so I’d never be in to that sort of thing, but I do admire and respect the dedication and craftsmanship as well!

Those are better executed than this.

That’s not a geo... It’s actually the original Volvo C30 concept/prototype.

it looks like one of the original fiat design sketches!

When I saw the thumbnail I thought it was a chopped crx at first

You joke, but I use the truth as an excuse to post the actually concept, the Safety Concept Car (why don’t we have these awesome A-pillars!?!):

Lol except for the A-pillars I can barely tell them apart.

That white one has a lot of work done.
First thing I noticed was the rear wheels & suspension.
Metros are 4x114.3 that rear has been narrowed with what I think is 5 lug Chrysler Le baron wheels or something.

The white one is cool, I bet it’s light as hell.
